The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and the Federation of Motorsport Uganda (FMU) are targeting to raise more than Shs1.5billion during the Gorilla-in-the-Mist motor rally in Kigezi sub region this week.
The President of Uganda Tourism Association (UTA) Boniface Byamukama told the media today that tourism stakeholders have partnered with FMU to realize this money and support conservation.
He said the money will be raised through entry fees to all tourism sites including national parks in Kigezi.
Byamukama said 38 rally drivers will participate in the rally which is expected to attract more than hundreds of both local and foreign tourists.
The rally will run from March 3rd to March 5th 2017.
