Maintain African Values in Marriages – Ssekandi

The Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has urged couples to guard against western culture interference in their marriages to avoid divorce.

He encouraged the marrieds to instead protect and promote good African values to have a stable marriage.

The Vice President was speaking during the wedding of John Bosco Mulyana and Juliet Nanziri, daughter to NRM National Treasurer Rose Namayanja at Rubaga cathedral in Kampala on Saturday.

He also reminded parents to bring up their children in a God-fearing setting in their homes. The VP also urged the youth to value and commit themselves to church marriages to avoid the temptations of broken values in society.

To the newlyweds, the Vice President reminded them to always trust God in all that they do and be open to each other and he cautioned them to listen to each other.

The mother of the bride Hon. Namayanja urged the youth to be patient and avoid early marriages.

The wedding was also attended by the Minister for Youth Florence Nakiwala   Kiyingi, NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi, his Deputy Jane Alisemera, MPs and Officials from the Central Government and Buganda Kingdom.
