The Hoima district health department has issued a Hepatitis B alert following a suspected outbreak of the disease in Kabwoya Sub-county.
The department have confirmed that at least 10 people are now under surveillance after developing symptoms similar to those of Hepatitis B.
The Member of Parliament for Buhaguzi County in Hoima district Hon. Dan Muheirwe has, accordingly, urged the public to go for Hepatitis B screening and treatment.
He told residents of Kaseeta Parish in Kabwoya Sub-county that government has stocked all public health centres in the district with Hepatitis B testing reagents and drugs.
