Ugandan Tourists Eat Big in New Festive Season Rates

The tourism sector has announced good news for Ugandan tourists both local and international.

Stakeholders in the sector from both public and private that include; Uganda Tourism board, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Hotel Owners Association, today addressed the press at the Uganda media center in Kampala about their festive season drive to promote domestic tourism.

“As we move closer to the festive season we know the children will be getting excited about Christmas tours. Why not give them something to remember?,” Suzan said.

Susan Muhwezi, the chairperson Uganda hotel owners association says hotels have introduced new family friendly packages for the Christmas season.

The CEO Uganda Tourism board Stephen Asiimwe says the festive season is that time of the year when all focus is on family & friends hence a time to reward oneself  for the hard work through 2017.

Tourism is currently one of the key priority sectors in Uganda’s economy and currently tourism directly employs over 450,000 people, 90% of whom work in the hospitality sector.
